LAYERS !!!!!

Moving from California to Colorado was a huge climate change. When I first came here I came downstairs ready for school in jeans and a t-shirt. It was December, over the years I finally learned that Colorado is FREEZING and MULTIPLE layers are required to stay warm during the winter.

One of my favorite combos for when its cold out is a cute shirt, with a zip-up hoodie, a flannel, and a jacket. Depending on the day sometimes it’ll be a t-shirt with a long sleeve shirt underneath. This keeps me super warm in the morning while its 12 degrees, but as the day goes on I can literally just shed layers to keep myself comfortable.

Another layering tip that I have is that if it’s super cold out, ripped jeans suck, you’re freezing the whole time you’re wearing them. An easy solution to this is to wear pantyhose under the jeans. They come in all different styles and colors, if they’re plain I usually rip them a bit just to add a little character. Even though they’re very thin, nylon is super heat absorbent so it really helps to keep you warm. Even fishnets add a little bit of warmth to your legs.
