LAYERS !!!!!

Moving from California to Colorado was a huge climate change. When I first came here I came downstairs ready for school in jeans and a t-shirt. It was December, over the years I finally learned that Colorado is FREEZING and MULTIPLE layers are required to stay warm during the winter.

One of my favorite combos for when its cold out is a cute shirt, with a zip-up hoodie, a flannel, and a jacket. Depending on the day sometimes it’ll be a t-shirt with a long sleeve shirt underneath. This keeps me super warm in the morning while its 12 degrees, but as the day goes on I can literally just shed layers to keep myself comfortable.

Another layering tip that I have is that if it’s super cold out, ripped jeans suck, you’re freezing the whole time you’re wearing them. An easy solution to this is to wear pantyhose under the jeans. They come in all different styles and colors, if they’re plain I usually rip them a bit just to add a little character. Even though they’re very thin, nylon is super heat absorbent so it really helps to keep you warm. Even fishnets add a little bit of warmth to your legs.

JEWELRY

One of my favorite parts of my look would have to be the jewelry that I wear. I have bracelets all up my wrists, rings on my fingers and lots of necklaces.

For bracelets some of my favorite are string bracelets but I also find a lot of them at different thrift stores. I make some of my bracelets out of candy beads (the ones with little letters on them) and elastic string, I literally buy it at the dollar store it’s so easy. I buy big containers of glass beads from like Michael’s for like 10 bucks. Then I also collect them when I’m out, if I find one on the ground and it looks cool I’ll add it to my collection. I love buying them from the Tibet and Nepal stores around town, that way it supports the local businesses.

My rings I mainly get from the thrift store, there are always really cool and unique ones there. Or if my friends have some cool ones I just beg for them to give it to me. Necklaces are easy to come by, I buy them at lots of random stores, or make them by just putting something random on a string. My staple is my baby necklace, its just a little plastic baby hanging from a white string around my neck. His name is Stein, I love him. IMG_2341

looking cute is so much easier than u thought

okay so  I used to hate putting effort into what I would wear, sweats and a sweatshirt were my best friend. Then one day I had to dress up in professional attire for a mock interview, and I loved how confident it made me. From that point on I decided to put a little work into my appearance and the look that I am trying to create. I quickly learned that putting together a nice outfit doesn’t need to be uncomfortable, they make pants that are comfier than leggings but are so so cute. It also isn’t hard, it’s just 2 or 3 things put together with a little bit of thought backing them up.

When I first started to change up my look I was at such a loss, clothes are so expensive and most of the time at the mall I end up spending 100 bucks for maybe 4 tops. I started going thrift shopping, ARC, Goodwill, local ones around town. I go into every 2nd hand store I find because there are always gems in there. At a used store 100 bucks can get you around 40 items… that’s how I grew my wardrobe so fast. I can also find so many unique items, plus the clothes are already worn in so they’re much softer.

Only buy things that you like. The reason you put together these outfits are for YOU. Only buy things that you think are flattering and make you feel like a bad ass bitch. I believe that once you feel put together on the outside, the inside starts putting itself together too. download
